What It Is: Published by ESET - a leading provider of antivirus, malware, and consumer security software - We Live Security shares “award-winning news, views and insights” from ESET’s deep pool of industry professionals. And with content that’s written in plain English, HN is a great resource for those of us who are not veteran programmers/developers. What It Is: With a large social media following and a name that’s easy to remember, Hacker News has established itself as a leading publisher in the industry. Further, their content is extremely well organized, with mini “magazines” covering more than a dozen industry sub-niches. What It Is: While many newsletters contain summaries, pontificating, and analysis of the industry, Cyber Magazine leans heavily towards the “breaking news” side of things. What It Is: Produced by industry publishing heavy-weight IDG, CSO Online provides “news, analysis and research on security and risk management.” Further, their signup page offers a daily option, a twice/week summary, and access to a variety of relevant IDG newsletters as well. What It Is: While author Daniel Meissler has 20 years of experience in the IT Security industry, it’s his obsession with reality modeling, evolutionary biology, and a host of other heady topics that sets his writing apart from the more traditional cybersecurity “news.” 2.
